A dying mother with her children



Theresia, who was dying from aids, with her children Werner, Donna, Elfride and Elisabeth. Her smallest child Broun is not there, but she is holding her oldest daughter, Agnes' child. I am used to share beds with many people, but as can be seen on the photo Theresia simply did not have room for me and let me stay with her daughter instead. But every night when I left her she would hug me for a long, long time and not let me go. My heart was broken every time I had to leave her.
