Therefore “Our” racism is much more

dangerous than that of the Ku Klux Klan
 

52. Before I am engaged to speak in American universities, I am often asked how I define racism. There are often black people in high positions present, and for good reasons they are skeptical when white so called anti-racists, as me, wish to give lectures about the racism they experience every day with their students. Victims of racism have no need to hear about trivial village fools with a burning cross in a forest. Therefore, if my definition of racism is not acceptable, I will not get the job. For the racism blacks in USA suffer from is exactly the one that has the power to discriminate. We all have prejudices towards others, but only some of us have so much economic and social power that we can actually hurt others with our prejudice. Thus racism should not be measured by which social loser in pain and rage scream the loudest in the woods, but on who use their social/political position to harm others, discriminate against them in job employment, equal opportunity to access homes, education, healthcare etc. etc.

53. In the last century, millions of blacks fled from oppression and racism in USA’s southern states, just as millions of Europe’s immigrants fled from oppression and Islamism in the south. They had heard that up there in the cold north lived fair human beings who believed in freedom, equality, brotherhood and democracy, but wherever the darker immigrants moved into the northern cities, they were met, first with human coolness and rejection and later with obvious discrimination, In every single city they saw the whites move out, when they moved in and run away en masse when more than 20% non-whites moved into a neighborhood. They saw the white people take their children out of the schools when the “brown” kids arrived, yes even spent huge amounts of money enrolling their children in private schools, when more than 20% of a class had become “discolored”.

54. The real symbol of racism is not a burning cross, but a “For Sale” sign in neighborhoods where our “unwanted” start to move in. The burning powerless cross in a forest hurt nobody, but the “for sale” signs makes our “unwanted” poorer and poorer. When we whites begin to sell our homes there is an increase in real estate value in the areas we flee to, while they decrease in the area they flee from. Since most people just own the bricks they live in, we racists make ourselves richer and richer, while we at the same time make blacks in America and immigrants in Europe, poorer and poorer. When I first arrived in USA in 1970, each white American was six times as rich as each black American. Today each white American is twenty times as rich as each black American. In the same way the difference in the housing value grows, as we fleeing racists acquire properties in the European suburbs, away from our “unwanted” left in the cities.

55. Thus, millions of honest, law-abiding and “liberal” white parents with all the “correct opinions” about civil rights and democracy force millions of blacks into isolation and poverty, against their will. The majority of black Americans do in fact wish to live in integration and harmony with the white Americans. Likewise are millions of white Europeans at the present time, pushing millions of immigrants into ghettos - against their distinct wishes.

But what all  “we good” whites have in common is that we desperately need a villain- yes a need to invent something like the Ku Klux Klan - in order to morally justify our actions and convince ourselves that there are people who behave in a much worse way than we do.

56. As I have shown with this empathic picture series about poor and powerless human beings who willingly display themselves in past times clown costumes in order to satisfy our need to create hateful thoughts about other people, there is no  real villain except for the villain in ourselves.
In comparison with the damages we exercise against the blacks  in USA and the immigrants in Europe, through our rejection and ghettoizing-with the constant pointing out of this or that error or mistake, we in our liberation can find in other cultures, behaviors, traditions and religions-are the Ku Klux Klan in fact innocent victims. Most of the KKK people I have met everywhere, live in ghettos - often together with their black friends and with their children in “black schools” -without any power whatsoever to, like us, create ghettos.

Racism is about NOT seeing the beam in one’s own eye - but about blaming the victims.
