| In my childhood I always romanticised Palnatoke as a Danish Wilhelm Tell figure. However, as the foster father of usurping king, Svend Tveskæg (Fork Beard), he was actually the killer of our first Christian king Harald Blåtand (Blue tooth), whom he shot with an arrow in his behind while he was answering the call of nature in the wood (according to Saxo). |
