Description
I stayed with a millionaire in Gainesville who let me use his Mercedes to drive around. One night I saw Linda’s shack and stopped. I immediately fell in love with the bright small girl who lived without light, indoor plumbing and with only a fireplace outside for cooking. The next night I brought the family kerosene for an old lamp. It became one of the most moving stories in my slideshow which for years after night after night made Americans cry when they saw it. But the light did not last for the bright gild. Already 17 years old I saw her give in to crack abuse and whenever I came around over the years to visit her, she was usually in prison.
